MALAKAI®
MALAKAI is a versatile hip-hop artist representing the Latin-American community with a positive, intelligent, and feel-good sound. He combines lyrical style similar to Eminem and poetic story-telling like Mos Def. From his first two albums, tracks such as "Music" and "Concrete Rose" seamlessly weave Spanish and English lyrics together to create a multicultural appeal. MALAKAI produces a wide variety of original beats ranging from soulful R&B to electronic blends of hip-hop. His clever rhymes, progressive beats, and clean lyrics deliver fresh, uplifting, and entertaining tracks.

On his second album, 'Rebels of the Audio Revival,' MALAKAI teamed up with BUFF BILLINGTON, a talented producer and MC, to give the sophomore release a new sound. Another long time collaborator, FREZ!, MALAKAI’s DJ and partner in rhyme, has stepped out from behind the tables to write and perform on tracks such as “Fire and Ice” and “Ghetto Blaster.” The two also collaborate on many visual arts projects and designs outside of the music world under the DEFREZ brand.

After completing his second album, MALAKAI expanded into the alternative rock genre. This move came about after his initial collaboration on a track from the first album with the rock group, Proximity Effect, which inspired him to write a full rap-rock album. MALAKAI's third album, titled, 'The Grey Matters Project,' fuses industrial and alternative rock with cunning and intricate rhymes. Songs like "The World We Know" and "Locust(s)" carry sounds similar to those of Rage Against the Machine and Linkin Park.

Rebels of the Audio Revival®
Rebels of the Audio Revival came about from the collaboration of cultures. In 2008 – MALAKAI and FREZ! got with BUFF BILLINGTON to produce and perform with a new sound. BUFF has been producing dope beats for over a decade. BUFF produced music for himself and other artists while living in Arizona, New York, Texas, and Los Angeles – needless to say his beats cover the map when it comes to influence. As a former drummer – BUFF draws on that skill and swing to bring a style that’s all his own. For this project, MALAKAI drew on his Latin heritage - using more Spanish in his lyrics – he also changed up his rhyme cadence to keep it fresh! FREZ! recently stepped out from behind the turntables to take the mic – and spit an extremely impressive drop into the MC game – with the single Fire and Ice. Rebels first full-length album, self-titled, Rebels of the Audio Revival drops in May of 2009 and the EP can be found at iTunes HERE.

The Grey Matters Project™
After collaborating with Proximity Effect in 2006, the two artists were inspired by the fusion of raps and rhymes over Rock / Industrial Beats – and decided to take it further. Proximity Effect brings such a fresh hit to Alternative Music. This project is such a impressive blend of dark beats, heavy guitars, and sick raps – that it must be heard to be understood.

The Grey Matters Project EP will be dropping in May of 2009 – with the full album following at the end of the Summer.
